Conversion of a Ground-Floor Retail Unit into a Residence

This study concerns the conversion of a ground-floor commercial space into a residential unit, aiming to create a functional and contemporary apartment that meets the demands of modern living.

The intervention includes the reconfiguration of the internal layout to ensure the rational organization of individual spaces, such as the living area, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. Particular emphasis is placed on optimizing natural lighting and ventilation, given the inherent constraints often associated with ground-floor spaces.

Simultaneously, the building envelope and electromechanical installations are being upgraded to enhance energy efficiency and thermal comfort. Modern materials and techniques are applied in accordance with current specifications and the Regulation on the Energy Performance of Buildings (KENAK).

Aesthetically, the design seeks to create a pleasant and modern environment through clean lines and functional solutions, making the most of the existing space's potential.
