Renovation and Conversion into a Residence in the City Center of Ioannina

The present study concerns the renovation and functional conversion of an existing building into a residential use in the city center of Ioannina, aiming at the adaptive reuse of the building envelope and its adaptation to contemporary living requirements.

The intervention includes the reconfiguration of the internal layout in order to achieve functional spatial organization, improved circulation, and increased comfort. Particular emphasis is placed on optimizing natural lighting and ventilation, as well as on the relationship between the interior spaces and the urban environment.

In parallel, the upgrading of the building envelope and MEP systems is proposed, using modern materials and energy-efficient solutions in accordance with the principles of sustainable architecture.

Overall, the proposal seeks to preserve the existing architectural identity while transforming the building into a functional, comfortable, and energy-efficient urban residence.
